Tricky Dick had a penchant for ‘listening in’ on conversations in the White House, a trait that later cost him his position as one of the American Idols, ironically he was almost hired by the FBI in the 1930’s, the very agency that brought him down, back when treasonous crimes were taken seriously. He was also the first of the American Idols to visit mainland China; the Chinese government was not recognized by the United States at the time.
