Idol of Ohio was an man of many firsts. He was the first of the American Idols to ride in an automobile while in office. After he was shot, he was the first of the American Idols to be transported to the hospital in an electric ambulance. He was the first of the American Idols to use a telephone to campaign and his inauguration was the first to be filmed. ⠀
Fun Fact:
Idol of Ohio became president of the YMCA in 1868, and in 1869 secured a rent free space for the YMCA in the First National Bank Building.
